This month, we had the pleasure of speaking with David from Help Musicians, who works on the Engagement Team. His role is all about people – supporting musicians at key moments in their careers, connecting them with the right services, and representing the charity at events and in the wider music community.
Introducing David: Engagement at the Heart of Help Musicians
“My work is all about connecting with people. My day-to-day involves supporting musicians who want to access our services during pivotal moments in their careers, helping them apply, answering their questions, and providing one-on-one support. I also represent the charity at events, conduct outreach, and build relationships with various groups and businesses to share our key messages.”
It’s a role that puts him at the frontline of Help Musicians’ mission – making sure artists know where to turn when they need support.
Why David’s Work Matters
“Helping musicians access career development support and health and welfare services, I’m supporting people when they meet opportunities in their careers or if they’re in a tough spot.
It’s incredibly rewarding to be a point of contact for someone in a difficult situation and to help them navigate their options. Working in music brings specific challenges, so it’s important musicians receive specialist support.”
New Opportunities for Independent Artists
The music industry is changing fast, with independent artists finding new ways to take control of their work.
“There are so many new opportunities for musicians to take control of their own work, from distribution and managing their rights to engaging directly with their fans. It’s a game-changer for independent artists. Help Musicians’ Business Skills sessions, addresses a lot of these topics, ensuring musicians have the information they need to navigate a career in music.”
At Rightsbridge, we share this passion for empowering artists with the tools and knowledge to own their work and make the most of new opportunities.
